Welcome to SOAR
(Sound Off About Retailing!)

Welcome to FirsTEAManagement's blog. We're here to discuss that one activity all red-blooded Americans enjoy: SHOPPING! But before you grab your debit card and car keys, let's clarify what's going on here...
FirsTEAManagement (FTM for short) is the leading downtown management firm in New Jersey (www.ftm-nj.com). We've been promoting downtowns since 1980 and currently manage or consult with seven business improvement districts and five chambers of commerce in north/central New Jersey.
By "promoting", we mean everything from sidewalk sales to Mardi Gras parties to holiday horse-and-wagon rides to Christmas parades to street fairs, block parties, car shows, Santa Claus appearances and even railroad station concierges! Everything that is on YOUR mind is on OUR mind...security, bad refund policies, poor customer service, inconvenient store hours, parking (and lack of), downtown shopping vs. indoor shopping malls vs. big box retailers, etc., etc. (Positive comments are welcome, too!)
So as you can see, even though we are NJ-based, the retailing issues we deal with are nationwide. Everyone has an opinion on the ideal shopping experience. We're going to tell you what our downtowns are up to, and we want you to tell us what impresses you and does not. Here's your chance to sound off whether you're in the Garden State or not because your views will be read by the entire worldwide web audience.
In short, Sound Off About Retailing (SOAR)! Doesn't matter if you're a sophisticated shopping pro or a window browser. Your opinion counts here just the same.
We plan to post our blogs every two weeks, especially with news updates from our clients, and we welcome your comments (as well as your shopping experiences, good and bad) anytime. We will reply to all questions within a week, and errors in the posts will be acknowledged in the comment area. Feel free to disagree with our points if there is need for disagreement, but keep in mind that all off-topic comments, disparaging comments, comments with more than one link, and comments that include profanity will be deleted.
Thanks for visiting...and keep in touch!
